History of The Basin The Basin is a small town on the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges about 30 kilometers from Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. This site allows you to view various information relating to the History of The Basin. The site is designed so that users with slow internet connections can quickly peruse most of the information and the information can be easily updated. The bulk of the historical information is presented in book form which can be read on-line in simple HTML format or downloaded as a PDF file to print out or read off-line. The book is an Internet adapted and updated version of the 1992 publication "Fire on the Hill - Flowers in the Valley". Information on the site will be expanded and updated over time. In particular, the existing on-line book and PDF files will be continually updated to fix any errors or add new information. New chapters will be added as they are completed.
